The first month of the new year is always a magical time, especially since it signals the coming of fairer weather to a land tired of holding the ice and snow of winter. Spring generally comes in waves, each successive bout of warmth a little stronger and longer lasting. Spring is the traditional time of planting for all the lands except for those in the far northern reaches where Spring comes late and Winter early.
