Session 42: Adventuring — interrupted

So the party (Reck, Mod, Cory, Baughb) were nearing the end of their free room and board at Gate Torak. Needless to say they were looking forward to putting that place behind them but where to go?

There seemed to be two main choices (and the infinite options that every player has at their disposal):

  1. Follow Burnando of the Frozen Tree Lands as he takes some Lorien Havashar northward on some quest for the Lorien Ishfahn… if it even exists.
  2. Head south back to Sillil and Fort Dorvul in the wake of the declaration of war from Queen Roselaine and reconnect with Queen Isabella’s troupe before it becomes too difficult to find them.
  3. Do something completely unexpected and watch the DM squirm as he draws upon the general Yalarad lore to provide a compelling and cohesive narrative.

The party chooses door #2 and decides to flag down the ever-present Attawattanai patrol to ask for passage. Naturally, this is possible for a fee… [I believe the fee was 1,000gp per person.]

[SUDDENLY, A RIFT IN THE TIME-SPACE CONTINUUM RIPS THE PLAYERS FROM THEIR ADVENTURE AND THRUSTS THEM BACK INTO SUSPENDED IMAGINATION.]

The game was cut short but there was one thing that the players were about to learn:

The Attawattanai who are carrying the party are members of the “Ascension Wing.” This is a group of fliers from every year that attempt to make it to the heart of the Wandering Storm.

These fliers are training for the flight of their lives and are planning on making the trip to Sillil in two days rather than the already-ambitious three that are normally scheduled.
